About five weeks ago now, I had a positive pregnancy test. Because I'd had a Partial molar pregnancy removed in May of last year (and foolishly not completed my screening), we weren't sure whether or not the molar tissue had grown back, which could lead to trophoblastic disease. So five weeks ago I either had the possibility of the big 'C', or I was actually pregnant!
Went to the doctors to ask for a scan and he agreed to book me in for an 'emergency' scan. A week later *sigh* I went for my ultrasound (15th Feb). They couldn't see any evidence of molar tissue, (well thank fuck for that!!) but they couldn't detect a fetal pole either, they had seen a single yolk sac and dated the pregnancy at about 5-6 weeks. (which if it was a normal pregnancy, the sonographers wouldn't be concerned as it's normal not to see anything at that stage) Not being completely satisfied, they booked my in for a repeat scan for two weeks later (today). It was the longest two weeks of my entire life. I've also been off work with sharp stabbing pains and the doc didn't want to take any chances so signed me off. Been so bored.
Trying SO hard in the last fortnight not to get excited until we knew for sure. All I said to the sonographer when I lay down for my ultrasound was, "We want to see a little pulsating bean!"
AND WE DID!!!
A tiny splodge with it's own heartbeat and everything. So happy
So we've worked out that I'm eight weeks today. Due date is 11th Oct.
So if people want to buy me drinks at Whitby, I'm on the OJ!! I'm sure Richey won't be saying no to a pint or two though!!
